Knit hat with a Brim


Materials:
Size 8 or 9 (which ever gives the correct guage) circular and set of double point needles.
3 oz. worsted weight yarn

Guage: 4 stitches to 1 , 5 rows to 1

Cast on 110 stitches, place marker at beginning of row.
Row 1: knit
Row 2: purl
Row 3: K 9, K2 tog, repeat
Row 4 : Purl
Row 5: K8, K2 tog, repeat
Row 6: Purl
Row 7: K7, K2 tog, repeat
Row 8: Purl
Row 9: Knit
Row 10-17: K1, P1
Row 18: Knit
Repeat Row 18 until hat measures 6"
Decrease Rows:
Row 1: *Knit 4, K2 together*, repeat around
Row 2 and 3: Knit
Row: 4: *Knit 3, K2*, repeat around
Row 5 and 6: Knit
Row 7: *K 2, K2 together,* repeat
Row 8, 9: Knit
Row 10: *K1, K2 tog,* repeat
Row 11: Knit
Row 12: *K2 tog* repeat
Row 13: K2 tog* repeat
Cut yarn leaving a 10 tail. Thread through remaining stitches and finish off. This hat looks especially nice with the ribbing done in a contrasting yarn.
